The Stones 01 Venice Until 14 Mar. The famous art critic John Ruskin explained his belief that the personality of a people could literally be ‘read‘ in its architecture
in The Stones of Venice. published in 1853. Here some of Ruskin's text isillustrated by the work of 19th century photographers Carlo Ponti and Carlo Naya.
