The young American saxophonist Harry Allen has earned good notices back home for his smooth, Scott Hamilton-ish approach to tenor saxophone, and the pure acoustic and intimate atmosphere of the financially-troubled Society‘s music room should be an ideal setting to check him out. Non-members are more than welcome, and this venue deserves better support than it sometimes gets. Allen is accompanied, as usual, by the house band. the Sandy Taylor Trio.
