I Hearts V Airdrie Tynecastle Park, Gorgie

maintain their pursuit of the leaders. The

game is given an extra twist by the fact that Airdrie are managed by Jordan’s predecessor at Tynecastle, Alex MacDonald

I Motherwell v Falltirtt Fir Park, Motherwell. 3pm.

I Particlt Thistle v Celtic Firhill. Firhill Road, Glasgow. 3pm. Not such a formality as it would have been for Celtic in the past, with the bhoys defence leaking goals regularly.

SCOTTISH CUP FIRST ROUND

I Oueen’s Parkv Clyde Hampden Park. Glasgow. 3pm. The road to Hampdcn starts, funnin enough, at Hampden. Queen’s Park won the first three Scottish Cup tournaments back in 1873—5. Probably the most they can hope for this time around is a place in the second round. Maybe they should revert to the knickerbockers and caps that proved so successful way back then.

Saturday 12

PREMIER LEAGUE

I Atrdrie V Motherwell Broomfield, Airdrie. 3pm. A relegation tussle pitting the lowest common denominator strongarm tactics of Airdrie against the slightly silkier but less effective approach of Tommy McLean‘s Motherwell. To think they won the cup just eighteen months ago.
