Not the film. not the book. not the Kate Bush song, not even the recent production by Birds of Paradise, but a new adaptation by director Carl Pickard of Emily Bronte‘s wild and windy romance. Regular visitor from Dublin, Rough Magic, brings its contribution to the Festival ofNew Irish Theatre: an animal-orientated look at the rituals of Christmas dinner by Donal O’Kclly, writer ofthe brilliant Batthe Father, Rabbit the Son. Written in dog-speak, it tells the story ofthe attempted disruption of the seasonal celebrations by a pack of hounds who are foiled by the turkey's willingness to be sacrificed. Worth checking out.
