LANARK
by Alasdair Gray A DANCE-THEATRE TRAINING PROIE CT
TAG Theatre Company in collaboration with Centre for Contemporary Arts Glasgow, are hosting a three week dance training project commencing 9th November 1992. The starting point is to work with material from AlasdairGray's "Lanark" and find ways of translating this matter into theatre. The principal aim of this project is exploration rather than performance. The training will be led by Tony Graham (TAG's Artistic Director) and Andrew Howitt (TAG's Dance Director). They will be supported by guest workshop leaders from other UK or European dance theatre companies.
TAG is seeking 18 professional performers to join the project - nine dancers and nine actors - who are interested in crossing the borders of their particular arts forms.
If you are interested please attend an
opening meeting on Friday 18th September at 7.00pm to discuss the project further. Following this a practical workshop will be held on Sunday 17th October, 11.00am-2.00pm. Both meetings to be held at Centre for Contemporary Arts, Sauchiehall St, Glasgow. For further information please contact TAG at the Citizens Theatre, Gorbals, Glasgow G5 9DS. Tel 041-429 2877. This training opportunity is open to all who apply.
