This month K profiles Dot Allison of One Dove
A chance meeting a few years back in Rimini with dance guru. Andy Weatherall, the man behind remixes for the likes of Fini 'I‘ribe, Happy Mondays. Primal Scream and even U2. was all it took for Glasgow band One Dove to move from relative obscurity into the dance world's glaring limelight. Snapped up by Weatherall's ultra hip Boy's Own label they released their debut single Fallen to enormous critical acclaim with the follow up. Transient ’D‘uth. due for imminent release. already garnering Single Of The Week status left. right and centre. One Dove, look set to follow in the footsteps of Primal Scream keeping Glasgow at the cutting edge of dance music.

How did you get started in music? I started really early because my mother is a musician by profession. I came through to Glasgow to do a degree in Biochemistry and met one of the guys in the band while working in a pub. He asked me to join the band and that was it.
Influences: When I was fourteen my
auntie gaver me a big pile of records from when she was about fourteen. It was stuff like Dusty Springfield and that kind of - breathy or, rather husky. singing is what I
aspire to. Favourite designer: Vivienne Westwood
Last film you saw? Delicatessen Where do you buy your clothes? Nowhere special. I prefer second-hand
Apart from Glasgow where else would shops and mix second-hand clothes with
you like to live? Vienna, I haven't been designer stuff. but it looks absolutely gorgeous.
Heroes? Dennis Hopper. Blue Velvet is my Favourite place in Glasgow? Any parks. favourite of his films. ‘ just to get away from the city without actually leaving it. ' Villains? Boris Karloff.
