GLASGOW FAIR

Swinging into action at the Briggait is the third annual celebration of the Glasgow Fair. Music is the chosen theme, and musicians and dancers from all over the world will be performing throughout each day.

Children from around Glasgow have been helping to create some spectacular floats and huge sculptures to parade at the Street Carnival Parade. Bob Marley, Vivaldi and the Four Seasons, a set of bagpipes and Elvis will all be there.

Possibly the most exciting show is the Rhythm Circus from Rostov-on-Don. This extraordinary company is made up of students from a circus school and range in age from 5—1 6 years. They have never performed outside the CIS before and were discovered by Glasgow’s very own Sparky the Clown, alias Mark Segal, who recently performed in their home town. Aerial acrobatics, traditional Russian stunts, tightrope

walking, along with hilarious clowning are featured in this breathtaking display. (Beatrice Colin)
