Walter Hood Fitch: A Celebration Until 21 Jun. A botanical exhibition of watercolours. drawings and prints by one of the mOst prolific artists associated with Kew Gardens. By the time Fitch died, in 1892. he had published nearly 10,000 plant portraits.
Andrew Keith's photographs represent a comprehensive record ot tile in Leith, acommunity that has always intrigued the rest ot Edinburgh with its mix oi elegance and brutality, deprivation and waterside yuppiedom. Nere, young and old Leithers are shown queueingtor a haircut, working at the tish market or shopping in Great Junction Street. Often hissubiects are tramed by their architectural surroundings, in Keith’s words ‘a townscape thatmakes Leith both hard yet warm; ships in the dock, the brutal modernist architecture’.The photographs are on show at the wholesalers, Wines trom Paris. not a gallery exactly, butan attractive venue and previously host to some very good exhibitions.
