The iiypochondriacs Until Sat 23 May. 7.30pm. £5 (£1). Baffling production of Botho Strauss‘s early absurdist drama that leaves you none the wiser and considerably more irritated.

Eduard ll Until Sat 23 May. 7.30pm. £5 (£1). Philip Prowse directs and designs for Brecht’s reworking of Marlowe’s historical tragedy, in a clear, well-measured production that engages throughout.

Rain Dog at last gets the chance to pay its way as it opens the fifth Strathclyde Summer Season with this highly-praised production of ths Scottish play which puts the emphasis very much on the Scottish. Eva Peron and The Conduct ot Lite Until Sun 24 May. 7.30pm. £5 (£2.50). A Latin-American double-bill performed by Strathclyde Theatre Group and directed by Susan Triesman. The first play is by Copi who brings the surreal sensibility of a cartoonist to the life of Eva Peron. The second play is by Maria lrene Fomes who takes an uncompromising look at the domestic life of a torturer.

Crime at Love Tue 26-Wed 27 May. 8pm. £7 (£3). Mask masters Trestle Theatre Company move into Raymond Chandler country for this tragedy which uses original music and film. Worth checking out. The Collected Works ot Billy the Kid Thurs 28-Sat 30 May. 8pm. £6 (£3). Freakshow Theatre Company go back to the first days of the American Dream in a performance based on the poetry of Canadian Michael Ondaatje.
