FOOTBALL Saturday 9

SCOTTISH CUP FINAL I Airdrie v Rangers Hampden Park. Glasgow. 3pm. A straw poll among

neutrals would probably reveal that these two are the most unpopular teams in the Premier Division. Rangers (politics and religion aside) because of their habit of buying brilliant foreigners for millions and winning the League in a canter. and Airdrie for their penchant for drillingtheir batch of mediocre journeymen into a useful defensive outfit and kicking flesh more often than the ball. Rangers willbe hot favourites to complete the double and any purist lover of good football should probably be glad to see them doit. Rangers being Rangers though. it’s probable that every non-l Iun in Scotland will be

cheering on the cloggers in the red chevrons and hoping for another upset. Funny old game.
