We here at List Mansions just can’t stop celebrating, and the publication oi our 170th issue seems reason enough to get a tew extra pints in. So we’ve got together with Glasgow's Blacktriars and Brewery Tap to otter 17D pints of Caledonian Deuchars India Pale Ale - in both bars—atthe special price of £1 .70 tor two pints!
Caledonian Deuchars IPA, brewed in Edinburgh trom selected Scottish malted barley, has just been named Beer at the Year by the Glasgow and West 01 Scotland branch at CAMRA, while another two Caledonian brands, Golden Promise and 7D/-, were awarded Second and Joint-Third Prize. The List’s £1 .TD-lor-two-pints otter applies to all three brands.
The otter runs lrom Friday 13 March until 170 pints have been drunk at both Blacktriars, 45 Albion Street, Merchant City, and The Brewery Tap, 1055 Sauchiehall Street. You must be over 18 and the manager’s discretion in serving anyone is reserved. Just take this copy of The List down to either bar, wave it eagerly at whoever’s serving and claim your reduced-rate pints. Only two pints at £1 .70 per copy.

Your knowledge of the liner points 01 Rolling Hock‘s brewing process was remarkably sharp - everyone knew that it’s brewed in Old Latrobe. You also knew that McCoy Tyner was a longtime associate at John Coltrane. The lollowing people won a ‘bucket 01 rocks’ and a pair ol tickets to one at the i gigs in the Rolling Rock Jazz Season at a the Queen's Hall, Edinburgh: Ewan Dale (Glasgow), Chris Findlay (Falkirk), Theresa Casey and Joseph Winders (both Edinburgh).
Our Best of British Cinema video competition sorted out the men trom the boys when we asked who wrote the i book on which The Third Man is based? ? It wasn’t John le Carré as some at you I thought, but Graham Greene. However, ! Graham Harper (Glasgow) corrected us i by pointing out that the screenplay came lirst and the book tollowed later. How clever at him to spot the deliberate mistake. He also wonders whether anyone has seen the T-shirt, but we don’t really know what he means. The
other video winners were J. Dodds (Glasgow), N. Montgomery (Stirling), Fiona Campbell (Bathgate) and Polly Davidson (Edinburgh).
The Funny Farm is the name at Glasgow’s comedy collective and S. McCluskey (Glasgow) and Douglas Grierson (Musselburgh) won season tickets to the Jim Beam Comedy Evenings in their respective cities as

On Saturday 21 March Edinburgh’s Assembly Rooms plays host to a non-stop musical extravaganza. All afternoon a constant stream at jamming blues musicians take to the stage and then in the evening there’s an unbeatable line-up 0! Nine Below Zero, Tam White, Boardwalk, Big George and the Business and the Bootsie Tootsie Band finishing in the early hours at the morning.
