Ballad of the Sad Cale Tue 24 Mar—Sun 5 Apr (not Sun 22. Mon 23 or Mon 30). 7.30pm. £5 (£3). Edward Albee's adaptation of a short story by Carson McCullers focuses on a domineering woman and her hunchback cousin who bring their isolated town to life by setting up a cafe. Things take a turn for the worse when the woman‘s long-lost husband returns. Financial support from the European Social Fund has enabled students of Langside College togain vocational experience working on this production by the Arches Theatre Company.

Niagara by Peruvian playwright Alonso Alegria is performed in the new 70-seater Third Theatre in a translation bydirector Robert David MacDonald who also stars in the two-hander. Written in 1969.121 cruce sombre e1 Niagara is said to be Alegria‘s best play. taking a philosophical look at Charles Blondin who crossed Niagara Falls on a tightrope in 1859.
