Otto Dix: The Dresden Collection of Works on Paper Sat 29 Feb—10 May, £2 (£1). One half of a collaborative celebration to mark the centenary ofthe birth of Otto Dix- Germany‘s best known 20th century realist painter, declared as a ‘degenerate' under the Nazi regime. While the Tate Gallery in London shows his paintings, the SNGMA concentrates on Dix as draughtsman. with watercolours, drawings, gouaches and prints from all phases of his career. Both exhibitions are organised by Keith Hartley, Assistant Keeper at the SNGMA.
Edward Baird 1904-1949 Sat 29 Feb—17 May. Selected works by a little known Scottish painter notable for the almost photographic attention to detail of his paintings and for a style that verges on Surrealism.

Scotland‘s bonniest and beastliest monarchs, politicians, writers and artists— not to mention the footballers - and a very fine cafe to boot.
Kenneth MacLeay: Landscapes. Portraits and Miniatures Until 20 Apr. An exhibition devoted to the life's work of one of Scotland's better-known 19th century watercolourists. As a painter of portraits and miniatures, MacLeay received commissions from many of Scotland's landed families and from Queen Victoria herself. His landscapes are less celebrated, but several fine examples are included here.

been produced. There will also be some 50 whisky-orientated artefaets, including pistols owned by Robert Burns when he was an exciseman, and a collection of silver quaichs.
