A mordant black comedy with Joan Plowright, Juliet Stevenson and Joely Richardson forming a conspiratorial triumvirate to commit three identical murders. It‘s self-indulgently weird/marvellously original in true Greenaway style, with plenty of grim gags to savour.

I Chaikiace (BBC2)6.25—7.15pm. Hull truck playwright John Godber devised this nine-part drama series set in a Midlands comprehensive. Whether it can live up to the high standards set by Grange Hill remains to be seen. In the first episode head teacher Barbara Kent (Rosemary Martin) assesses her school's place in the marketplace.

Agent out to end the nefarious career of Al Capone (Robert De Niro). Sean Connery won a Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his role as Costner‘s grizzled and cynical sidekick. Malone. It‘s a buddy movie with a difference. with a strong screenplay by David Mamet. and particularly sharp suits by Armani.
I Watching The Detectives (Channel 4) 9:10pm. The second in the documentary series looks at ‘the real James Bond’ the Dallas private eye Bill Dear, ample of girth and wallet alike.

More antics at David Lloyd George School after a rather high-spirited basketball fixture lands the team coach in trouble with the head. I Twin Peaks (BBCZ) 9—9.50pm. Return of the snookered soap after three weeks away. Agent Cooper persuades Josie Packard to tell the truth. the whole truth and just a few preposterous tales. I Chancer (Scottish) 9—10pm. Piers begins a legal battle for the custody ofJo‘s baby. I Rear Window: My Name Is Loneliness (Channel 4) 9—9.45pm. The arts and culture series explores the life and work of African artist John Muafengejo. who died in 1987 aged 44. It examines a range of his most powerful works and the background in which they were created. I Kinsey (BBCI) 9.30—10.20pm. Kinsey (Leigh Lawson) hears about his erstwhile partner‘s accident in Portugal, and is forced to make some tough decisions in the final episode of the series.
