ICE HOCKEY Saturday 22
BRITISH PREMIER LEAGUE
I Ayr Raiders v Murraytield Racers Ayr Ice Rink. Limekilns Road. Ayr. 7pm. £4 (£2.50). Ayr are an excellent ice hockey team with a large question mark hanging over their future. That their three new imports. Lloyd McKinnie. Geoff Carter and Andre Brassard. who aided in the gallant attempt to overcome the Durham Wasps in the recent top-of-the-table clash at Limekilns Road. cannot yet be guaranteed a future at the club. is indicative of their troubles. Without firm backing. Scotland‘s leading team in the Heineken British Premier League may begin to fall apart.
I File Flyers v Cardin Kirkcaldy Ice Rink. Kirkcaldy. 7. l5pm. £3 (£1.75).
NATIONAL LEAGUE DIVISION 1
I Glasgow Summit Saints v Medway Bears Summit Centre. Minerva Way. Finnieston. Glasgow. 4.45pm. £3.50 (£2). Saints have problems of a different nature
— they have the backing. they just can'tget the results. However. The Medway team may well go away with sore heads after this one — they are the only team. so far. to lose to the newly formed Saints who. casting aside their haloes. will be out for scalps today.

Saturday 5
BRITISH PREMIER LEAGUE
I Ayr Raiders v Nottingham Panthers Summit Centre. Minerva Way. Finnieston. Glasgow. 4.45pm. £3.50 (£2). The Raiders: the continuing saga of an ice hockey team with no home to call their own. Today's match and the following one against Fife Flyers will be held at their erstwhile temporary home in Glasgow. the Limekilns‘ Road rink being unavailable to them on these dates. Still. their early season form at this venue was exceptional and they won't feel toosore about having to return.
I File Flyers v Durham Wasps Kirkcaldy Ice Rink. Kirkcaldy.7. 15pm. £3 (£1.75). A very tough test indeed for the Flyers. Durham are currently top after comprehensively beating their nearest rivals Ayr Raiders in two recent matches. both home and away.
