Sam Ainsley Until 24 Jun. Fourth in the series ofexhibitions featuring well-known contemporary Glasgow artists. Ainsley's tapestries and paintings are based largely on the role of women in contemporary society. but she also addresses herselfto ecological issues and has been Lecturerin Environmental Art at Glasgow School of Art since 1981.
Goroals Children: Photographs by Joseph Mcltenzie 15 Jun— 18 Jul. Sixty portraits taken during 1964 and 1965. when the demolition and refurbishment ofthe Gorbals began.

J.D. Fergusson 1874-1951 Until 3JuI. Oil paintings from the JD. Fergusson Foundation. Doubtless one of the most important figures in the history of Scottish art. Fergusson was one ofthe few British artists to witness the exciting changes going on in Paris at the turn ofthe century. He often rubbed shoulders with Matisse in Montparnasse and with Charles Rennie Mackintosh in Chelsea. See his watercolours and sculpture at the Barclay Lennie Fine Art Gallery.
The Winners oi The Guthrie Award. 192010 1990. Until 3 Jul. Founded anonymously by the Earl of Moray. the award isstill made annually to the most outstanding work by a Scottish artist under the age of 33. Most of the winners exhibited are represented by their original prize-winning work as well as by a more recent example.
