Organisers are the American Festival Theatre who have been turning upin Edinburgh every August for the past eight years and now have plans to turn the city into an all year round base. Desire Under The Elms Until Sat 5 May. 8pm. £3.50 (£2.50). Havingjust performed a recent play from the other side of the Atlantic to much acclaim, American Connexion now turns to Eugene O'Neill‘s established stateside classic. It is a passionate tale of New England domestic life where a forbidden love emerges in a patriarchal home. Scotland on Sunday theatre critic Gregg Ward directs the play which goes on tour until June.

I Elizabeth Bordon Quinn Winged Horse revives Chris Hannan’s play first
performed in Edinburgh in 1985. Set at the

I Speaking For Myself. . . 7 Two fine monologues revived by The Byre Theatre Company in a well-matched double-bill. Peter Nardini's Jimmy Hanlon is a sensitive portrayal of a mentally handicapped old man and Anne Marie Di Mambro's Joe is a witty and touching study of a middleoaged ltalian woman living in Scotland.
