At the end at the month, Glasgow will be shimmering in a tropical heatwave as the best Paris-based Airican music hits town tor a red hot rhythm extravaganza. Each night, 25 Apr—1 May, the Paris Airica Club moves into Glasgow's Tramway tor a week-long experiment in cross-cultural nightclubbing. On the bill is Cheba Fadela (Algeria), Saaba (Burkino Fasso), Papa Wemba (Zaire), Ali Farka Toure (Mali) and Kaba Mane (Guinea Bissau), who will be pounding out the rhythms while authentic Airlcan iood and drink is served.

Just as The List hits the stalls this issue, the video tor Batman is turning up torthe iirst time in the video rental shops. The List has three copies at the iilm that grossed more money than any other in a single day in the USA. As well as these, there’s a runner-up copy oi the oiiicial Batman Movie Book up ior grabs.
