As a gesture ofsupport to young local touring groups. director Andy Arnold has chosen to open the theatre with the current Clyde L'nity Theatre show. the second in Aileen Ritchie's Glasgow working-class trilogy.

Left Wing Theatre: What Does It Achieve? Thurs 19 Apr. 3pm. £4 (£2.50). One ofa series of debates organised by Book Trust Scotland in association with The Scotia Bar. One ofthe things Left WingTheatre has achieved is John McGrath's sprawling four-hour epic at The Tramway it should be interesting to hear what people have to say about that.

Not content to play second fiddle. he is directingthe Alexandre Dumas play to boot.
