As a gesture ofsupport to young local touring groups. director Andy Arnold has chosen to open the theatre with the current Clyde L'nity Theatre show. the second in Aileen Ritchie's Glasgow working-class trilogy.

One of the many attractions in Glasgow's Glasgow is a changing programme of performances by a special in-house company. Left Wing Theatre: What Does It Achieve? Thurs 19 Apr. 3pm. £4 (£2.50). One ofa series of debates organised by Book Trust Scotland in association with The Scotia Bar. One ofthe things Left WingTheatre has achieved is John McGrath's sprawling four-hour epic at The Tramway — it should be interesting to hear what people have to say about that.

Not content to play second fiddle. he is directingthe Alexandre Dumas play to boot. It's all about a revolutionary hero-in-the-making who runs off with a married woman from the aristocracy and in so doing challenges his own ideals. See Preview.
