I Julio Gonzalez Forty sculptures, supplemented by drawings, from the influential artist whose Monserrat, about the Spanish Civil War, was exhibited alongside Picasso’s Guemica in Paris in 1937. Organised by London‘s South Bank Centre, this retrospective should help re-establish the importance of this sculptor who, despite playing an important role in the development of the artform this century , is currently little known in this country. I The Drum Kitchen In a project which will continue throughout the year, jazz singer and musician Josephine Cupido will teach the rudiments of music and percussion through workshops and sessions. The idea is not so much to provide formal training. as to give people the ability and knowledge required to participate usefully in community events and street projects.
