I Messenger Reggae Sound SystemThe Venue. 10pm—2am. £2/concessions. For the first time in Edinburgh a reggae club doesn’t play ‘chart‘ reggae. but serious Ragamuffin. Lovers rock and some massive Dub. Papa Zeb i has been around the Edinburgh club scene for a while ‘toasting‘ in various clubs. so it‘s good to see him behind the decks of his own club. a pumping bass. sampling to full effect and using the 4k PA to its best. Strictly bubbhng.
I O-Zone Cinderellas Rockerfellas. 7.30—10.30pm. £1 .50 (50p with ticket). Trendy teen disco for 14—18 year olds. 50p tickets should still be in circulation.
Wednesdays
I Breathless Potterrow. 8pm—1am. Guest £1.50. student 50p with matric card. Since the last review. Breathless has managed not just to draw a good crowd but alsoto encompass more up-to-date club sounds. playing tracks from groups such as NWA and Dela Soul, making this student club one of the best ofits kind. Maybe the fact that they have the cheapest bar prices in town has something to do with Breathless not losing its fun identity.
I The Deep The Mission. 10.30pm—3am. £2. For a club whose playlist has a reputation for being one of the best around. it's a shame that the Edinburgh clubgoers don‘t seem to support it more. The Deep is one ofthe best clubsin Edinburgh during the week. so go down there and have a rave!

I Sexbeat Shady Lady's. 10.30pm-3am. £2.00(£1.50 before 11pm). Underthc banner of ‘Sleaze the night away'.comcs this new Wednesday night club playing mostly Nu-Beat and indie dance music. Good advertising campaign should see that this club takes off.
Thursdays
I Chateaux Cha Cha Blue Oyster Club. 10.30pm—3am. £2.50. A club whose aim is to bring the best ofthe gay/straightclub scene together under one groove. Roxy's efforts seem to have succeeded - it was designer gear a go-go. from Richmond to
Westwood. Look out for the Flag Sisters and move to the sounds of the Dreadnought Hi-Fi Sound system and Temple Sounds.
I FreedomWilltie House. 10.30pm-3am. £2.00. Taking in a slice of the dance scene. this club will not just be playing House and Hip Hop but also a good dose ofR&B. soul and ska. Freedom is brought to you courtesy of the people who run Breathless. although the idea behind this club is not just to have a good night out but also to make a ‘statement‘. hence the first-night takings have been donated to the ANC. This will be the policy of Freedom who will do a fundraiser once a month.
