Macbeth Fri 6—Sat 28 Oct. 7.30pm. £5 (£ 1) OAPs and Unemployed Free. John Pope , director of Shadow Syndicate and Richard III staged at the Citizen‘s last year, turns his hand to the great Scottish tragedy, Macbeth, and judging his by past work, this production should be well worth a look.

Putting It About Mon 2 Oct. 7.30pm. £2. Set in 1992, the play depicts a scenario where the government‘s policy is to put people who have contracted AIDS into ‘hotels‘. The play centres round three women who have contracted the virus by different means and examines how women share common experiences. The Birmingham touring company, Women and Theatre, concentrate on issue-based theatre and most performances (including this one) are followed by a discussion. See Preview. Witch Hunt Thurs 5 Oct. 9.30am & 1.30pm. £1.50. Fablevision use dialougue, movement and live music to depict the story of Christian Shaw, who was
supposedly possessed by the forces of evil. Set in 1697, this world premiere attempts to examine the train Of events which lead to the hanging of six citizens of Renfrewshire. See Preview.
Theatre Sports Thurs 5 Oct. 7.30pm. £2. This seven strong company have been making good down South and return to Glasgow after a Mayfest run. Loosely structured and very live, their improvised humour involves suggestions from the audience.

The newly formed Actors Theatre of Scotland teams Forbes Masson and Ronald Simon in Tom McGrath‘s affectionate study of Stan and Ollie. It‘s a must for fans of the duo and if their appeal has always alluded you. this production will make you think again.

Having received funding for a permanent community drama teacher. about 400 residents of Cumbernauld have got together to perform a play based on life in Cumbernauld today. The Phoenix Theatre Company tackle this popular modern play about growing up on the wrong side of the law in the Gorbals, co-written by Tom McGrath and hardman Jimmy Boyle. Godspell Mon 9—Sat 14 Oct. 7 .30pm. £13 (£1.50). Having toured their production of the 705’ relic to Ballerup in Denmark, St Bride‘s Music and Drama Association bring the rock opera to East Kilbride. Frank MacGuiness‘ study of WW1 soldiers dealing not just with the enemy, but also with their own religion and politics. Festival Of Special Educational Needs Mon 2—Thur 12 Oct. The first week will include two performances for trainees and three one day workshops for staff and the second week involves workshops for trainees given by Centre Ocean Stream and Kathakali.
