Snowballs 28 July—er until they melt. In case we had forgotten what the rigours of summer can be like sculptor Andy Goldsworthy has thoughtfully provided 18 snowballs each 6 ft in diameter to remind us. He wants the public to visit his increasingly puddle-like exhibition on a number of occasions in order that we can gauge the difference each time.

Reversal of Slogans 1—31 Aug. Anopcn exhibition organised as part of the Festival OI Plagurism artists are invited to submit work that subverts the images normally associated with advertising slogans. The Festival itself runs from 4—11 Aug and is designed to show up blind adoration ofart and what the organisers see as the purely financial interests of many in the art world.

Two German Artists 31 July—25 Aug. Hubertus Hess is known for his 3-dimensional installations which incorporate granite. steel and iron and he is currently searching the Scottish countryside for suitable material. Christian Rothman the other artist on show has recently been amassing prizes for his murals and designs in Germany. here he exhibits some of his abstract screen prints and paintings.

I Hated it at First But I Love it Now Until27 Aug. Central Library Gallery. The title is taken from a newspaper headline quoting a 16 year old girl alluding to her lifein Milton Keynes which appealed to the 3 members of Grin. a goup of photographers who specialize in capturing performers and performances on film. as a good maxim for life and title forthis display of their photographs.

When We Were Young 29 July—9 Sept. An exhibition ofsculpturc. painting and drawinngs taken from public and private collections that examines the portrayal of children and childhood in British art since the 1880s when the Glasgow Boys and the Nelwyn School first emerged.
Munch and Photography and Munch as a Photographer 5 Aug—l6 Sept. The relationship between Edvard Munch's painting and his photography is examined in this exhibition ofoils. drawings. watercolours and ofcourse photographs.
