The Waterfront also sells some unusual beers — ‘Guest beers' at the moment are Funck from Luxembourg. Alfa. and a Brazilian rice beer called Brahma — for every bottle of Brahma bought. at £1 .20 each. a small percentage goes towards saying the Brazilian rain forest.

Bare boards and curios on the wall add to a relaxed atmosphere. but I think the bear‘s head might be a bit over the top. Interesting looking food is also on offer (even the bar rolls haye things like smoked ham and asparagus in them). I Stockbridge should soon have its own Malaysian restaurant ~ rumour has it that both (iraham Allison. owner of Negociants. and the proprietor ol the Singapore restaurant on the High Street fancy the premises of Chez Julie in Raeburn l’lace. Malaysian cuisine is quite trendy at the moment among a younger. slightly yuppie. yaguely health-conscioUs but gastronomically adyeiiturotis set. so Stockbridge is just the place for such a yenture.
