Shadow oi Heaven Until 27 May. Edinburgh-based photographer Patricia MacDonald is so captivated by the Scottish landscape that she flies up in aeroplanes to take pictures of it. Her first one-woman show is toured by the Photographers (iallery in London and reveals unexpected shapes and patterns in the landscape.

Cibachrome Printing 21 May. 1 lam—5pm. Coinciding with Shadow ofllt'aven (see above). this workshop will demonstrate how to select and transform your slides into colour prints using simple equipment and methods.
Gum-bichromate Workshop 24 May. A unique opportunity to learn this exciting historical process. This workshop will be of interest to photographers. printmakers and those looking to expand their use of photography.

Between “<68 and 1871 Thomas Annan compiled a photographic record of Glasgow‘s old city around the I ligh Street and Saltmarket. He had been specially commissioned to take the photographs before a substantial programme ofslum clearance was put into action. The result is a celebrated collection of images of poverty and over-crowding. but also of striking beauty.

Salt Sea Fossil Sea Until 27 May. (iwyneth Leech collects large quantities of sea-borne plastics from Clyde coast beaches and uses them in her drawings. prints and installations to make powerful statements about our abuse of the environment. One such installation is being made specially for the Printmakers Workshop and it will be on display alongside her paintings and prints.

Intimate Images Until 28 May. Two Dumfriesshire artists join forces in this exhibition ofetchings and ceramics. David Sinclair has in recent years been involved in developing printing techniques. so his contribution here veers on the side of graphic images more than painting. Flower studies. nudes. domestic still lives and favourite landscapes are all interpreted. Archie McCall‘s ceramics are all reduction fired stoneware with gold lustre additions applied in a third firing.
