performed at Fury Murry's, lex and the Kelvlngrove ‘Class of 89’ Festival. In addition, they shouldbe able to build on the fans they have won from these gigs with another show at Napoleon’s on Tuesday 23.

Consisting of Monica Oueen (vocals), Peter O’Hare (piano/guitar), John Smilie (guitar), Brian Sweeney (bass) and Pat Connor (drums), their sound varies from a two-guitar rock attack to some more reflective piano/acoustic guitar-based ballads, with both formats acting as a good showcase for Monica's superb vocals and the surprisingly mature songwriting talent.

songwriting in the lastyear,’ says Peter. ‘I think we have written for Monica’s voice a lot more, whereas before we would write for our own style, or ourown type of music . . . If you arrange things well you can get a full sound, and leave spaces for someone to sing over the top.

‘Since the first gig in Glasgow went down so well, we now feel that we are

getting places,‘ he continues. ‘It was

quite a testing time for us, but I think we passed that test. The response was overwhelming, so we have been inspired to rehearse more, and things are progressing quite quickly.’

At the moment this progress is more geared towards the live front, with their
