TRAVERSE SPRINGBOARDS

Those eager young folk at the Traverse are thinking ahead to the Autumn when it‘ll be time for another short run of Springboard plays. These are small scale commissions offered to newer writers and directors to give them a chance to experiment without the pressures ofa major production. Ifyou are a writer or director

w ho could benefit from thisopportunity then the time is right to get in touch with the Traverse. Assistant Director Ben Twist is looking for people with an entrepreneurial spirit and ideally. but not necessarily. with a play in mind. ‘I want people who really want to do it.‘ says Twist. 'and if they don't already have a play they should be keen to plough through a pile ofscripts.‘ Prospective directors and playwrights should turn up at the theatre on Junee at 7pm for art introductory meeting. but it is probany worth giving Ben Twist a call on 031 226 2633to chat about your ideas in ads ance.
