Hades at Fresh above the Waterloo Bar. Thursdays. 10pm—Zam. Free. Buoyed by publicity which has stretched as far as the classified columns of the ‘Edinburgh Advertiser' — some contrast with the typical Edinburgh entrepreneur who puts up ten posters and wonders why his club is shut within a month — Hades, the ‘Thursday alternative‘, is beginning to establish itself as a permanent feature.
Overall the music is a mixture of glam/705 sounds and the Sisters/Lords/Banshees axis which although perhaps slightly on the safe side for an ‘alternative‘ club is nevertheless more than palatable. Fresh's airy, continental feel helps to boost the club's individuality, and attendance at Hades would be recommended even if it wasn‘t tree! (Andy Crabb)
