Rather than sign to any of the majorsthey instead went for a one off single dealwith Fiction Records. who have not signed a band since the halcyion days of the Cure and the Associates. The result ofthat deal. the three track EP. The Autogift. is out

Punk isn‘t dead. and when intrusions from above. in this case the Poll Tax. threaten. the bands pop out of the woodwork and rally round the flag. Our own Political Asylum don'tseem to have done much fora while. but anew LP seems to be forthcoming; Thatcher On Acid have taken time off from the London circuit and Danbert Nobacon may be remembered as the singer from Chumbawumba. who at the time of Live Aid reminded us that ‘Pictures ofStarving Children Sell Records‘.
