Laurie Booth Beginning Third Eye Centre‘s 1989 ‘New Moves‘ season. Laurie Booth is working at Third Eye Centre for four weeks with an international group of dancers before presenting his performance on 2.3.4 February.
Throughout this residency. classes with the company and Booth himself have been arranged by Third Eye Centre and Glasgow independent Dance.
On Tuesdays 17.24 January an open class with the company is held in the morning. On Wednesdays 18. 25 January Booth takes a masterclass for experienced dancers and movers (martial arts etc). On Saturdays 14.21 .28January and4 February there is a general class open to all with some movement experience. Contact Nikki Milican at Third Eye Centre for details of all the above classes. I HAGGS CASTLE MUSEUM l()(lSt Andrews Drive. Pollokshields. 427 2725. The Desperate Journey Extended until April. 1989. Based on the children‘s book by Kathleen Fidler this is a bleak adventure story. but with a happy ending. lt tells the tale ofa family ofcrofters from Sutherland who are evicted from their home during the Highland Clearances. They go first to Glasgow. and then make the ‘desperate journey‘ across the Atlantic to Canada.
