The exhibition traces the transformation of Springburn from a small village and industrial suburb where property was privately owned. to today's tow n dominated by council tower blocks. home for 50"} of the residents.

Third Eye Centre has been central to the organising and mounting of the Polish Realities season which runs throughout Glasgow during November. Exhibitions in galleries around the city have been selected by the centre's director Chris Carrell and exhibitions organiser Andrew Nairne. Third [Eye itself is dcvotingall gallery space this month to Poland. Polish Realities Exhibitions Edward Owurnilt L'ntil 3 Dec. Gallery 1. Dwurnik is one of the best known Polish artists included in this season. outside his own country. Here. four large works combine his 'village' paintings ( using a style he adopted in the 1970s) with expressive solitary figures. Jaroslaw Modzelewski. Wlodzimierz Pawlalt. Ryszard Wozniak 5 Nov—3 Dee. Gallery 1 . Three members ofGruppa. an artists' group formed in 1982 who led a movement away from conceptual art in the seventies back to painting in the eighties. Mirosfaw Balka L'ntil 3 Dec. Gallery 1. A member of the informal group Neue Bieremicnnost (New Pregnancy) makes an installation in the gallery which looksat the question of personal destiny. Marelt Chlanda and Andrzei Szewczylt limit 3 Dec. Gallery 2. Chlanda makes space specific sculptures and drawings. Szewczyk's installation Basilica looks at the nature of communication. A former member of Kolo Klipsa (a group currently showingat Glasgow Arts Centre) Kruk's sculptural installation eschews intellectualism and looks at the world through instinct and use ofthe senses.
