Aylesbury can be proud ofits contribution to the lunatic fringe of rock 'n' roll. and we can benefit from it every year. when Otway does his stuff at the Festival. Lost Wild Willy Barrett alongthe way and now does TV ads for lemonade. There‘s a lesson in there somewhere.

Amamponth ; stir up an intoxicating polyrhythmic brew on a huge array of percussion instruments. Their success in the 1986 Festival has resulted in a lengthy run this time around.

charged-up folk-influenced bands. the Kings' use of cello cements their individuality. Both We Free Kings and Swamptrash are just back from the Arran Rock Festival. Eec-HAH!

A tribute to 100 years ofthe City Chambers— a building that has withstood more abuse from the pigeons and councillors that frequent it than most others. (Anyone remember the famous Tory up the lum 1’) Nevertheless. the cleaned up (on the outside there's no telling about the councillors) building is a symbol of much that is good in 1980s (ilasgow. The bands here present a good mixture The McCluskeys‘ eeltic roots rock/folk; Origin Sins verge on gothic with their straight ahead rock: Hit The Wish are unknown and Tantara Blade have a good single out which shows they are influenced by the right people Third Party ('abat'et continue what looks like a busy month.
