far too much space is given over to the frankly pedestrian work of such as De Courcy Lewthwaite Dewar, two of the erstwhile GSA alumni whose work, at best, truly deserves to be seen, are afforded hardly any space at all Annie French is represented by one work only, and Jessie M. King, as versatile and accomplished as any, by some of her least impressive later items, including the worst of the slap-dash painted china with which she helped to ‘boil the pot’ at Kirkcudbright.

‘The Glasgow Girls' will give pleasure to many, especially on the copious documentary side, but it is bound to leave the knowledgeable
