The sexist pantos of the past seem to have been superseded by the political pantos of the present in Wildcat‘s jolly. successful show in which the Wicked Witch of the South (guess who) has so frozen the North that Christmas itself is in peril. Lots of traditional panto participation and splendid characterization with the likes of Malcolm Roughkind, Greaselda. the ultra-cool cat Fleas, and Edwina Mango Chutney Tiffin.

Santas are already well installed in stores in both Glasgow and Edinburgh and another is still to come in Princes Street Gardens, Edinburgh lrom 15 December until Christmas Eve (Mon-Fri 11am—4pm, Sat11am—6pm, Suns t.b.c.) In Princes Street he will be pitching his Grotto this year at the West End (ie the opposite end lrom last year) and there will be the usual lree sleigh rides around the gardens.
The lights will go on in George Square, Glasgow on 26 November and there will be a Yule Fest (daily 11am-8pm) in the square Irom 26 Nov to Christmas Eve with food and gift stalls, cralts and roasted chestnuts .
