AS part oi its ongoing City Life: Movies and M yrhologies season, Filmhouse is holding the first of two special events on 17 Oct running from 10.30am to 4pm. Entitled Cirie; and Modernism the first event focuses on the advent of modernism and its influence on the arts, especially city architecture. Participants will view two episodes of Robert Hughes’ television series The Shock of the New and an extract from Murray Grigor‘s Pride of Place series. Professor Andrew McMillan will deliver a lecture on the evolution of Glasgow as a city and the impact of Modernism on it. Tickets are
