STEVE MARRIOTT
Just back in the country alter a six-week Australian tour, roclt legend Steve Marriott brings his band to the Edinburgh Venue on Monday 20 July and Glasgow Rooltops on Wednesday 22 July.
With The Small Faces in the Sixties, Marriott was the ace mod, his authenticity appreciated by the mods who spurned The Who. As the writer at classic songs like ltchycoo Park, Whatcha Gonna Do About It, and the beautilul All Or Nothing, his place in history was aSsured. Just ask Paul Weller, who, belore he tancied himselt as the next Curtis Maylield, based his whole image on Marriott.
When The Small Faces ground to a halt, Marriott joined up with Peter Frampton to lorm Humble Pie, whose rootsy boogie drew a large audience throughout the Seventies belore they, too, split up and Marriott went solo.
