Undeniany appealing performances all round give this superior genre piece an emotional pull to match its thematic richness — with (ioldblum‘s deformities partly created and passed on through sexual contact. echoes of the AIDS epidemic arc doubtless intentional. and the romantic relationship is the catalyst which unleashes all manner of horribly repressed male urges.
