Ten of Glasgow‘s galleries are hosting exhibitions by artists from Nurnberg. the German twin on a ten-day visit. Work by that city’s most celebrated artist, Albrecht Diirer, has been

The McLellan Galleries, their Rose Street entrance almost luminous in red and yellow stripy awnings, otter past and present. Using theatrical displays ‘lmages of A German City‘ shows a contrasting history of Nazi tribunals and medieval art treasures while next door contemporary graphic art by 73 living Niirnberg artists aims to show thatthere is life in the city alter Diirer.

Galleries like Main Fine Art, Compass, and Glasgow Print Studio concentrate on the work of one or two contemporary artists, a good number of whom will be new to most Glasgow art followers. (Alice Bain)
