Orphaned teenager Estevez clings desperately to his friendship with his adoptive brother Sheffer. the one constant in his insecure world. When Sheffer‘s maturing interests inevitablyshift towards the opposite sex, the angst-ridden Estevez is beset with petulant jealousy and outright hostility at the threat he perceives to their relationship.
Proflific young clever clogs Estevez also wrote this intense adaptation of the Susie Clinton novel and the result is a variably but watchable rummage through the familiar terrain ofadolescent coming ofage. A fine performance from Catherine Mouchet portrays the heroine as a likeable. idealistic figure struggling against doubt and shrugging aside physical suffering.
