of Mayfest comes the local
Paisley Festival. Much of the festival involves displays and activities which welcome audience participation, including open days and sporting events. and full details of these can be found in the official programme or from the Festival organisers (see below). Here are some ofthe other highlights.

O AMoorIand Walk depart Robertson Car Park. Gleniffer Braes Country Park. 7.30pm. Long-since superceded as a form of farming and pre-dating the group by a couple of centuries. run-rig was a 17th and 18th-century form ofland tenure in Scotland. Examples of this and also of ‘lazy-bed'. another form offarming. survive in the park and are highlighted on this walk. McCaig and McLaverty round off the weekend on Sunday night at 7.30pm. each with a different style and recent claim to fame. Kelman has recently published a book of short stories. Greyhound for Breakfast while the films Caland Lamb were both based on books and screenplays by McLavery. who also has not inconsiderable but less well-known skills as a cartoonist and illustrator. Other writers making guest appearance over the weekend are Liz Lochhead and Tom Leonard (Sat 7.30pm). Ian Crichton Smith (Sat 30. 2.30pm) and Edwin Morgan (Fri 29. 7.30pm).
