SUMMER SCHOOLS
0 Seventh International Summer School oi Modern Dance Dunfermline College of Education. 3-15 August. Daily. Phone 0750 32213 or 03.1 225 4600 for information. Organised annually by Dance Connections under the directorship of Kedzie Penfield, this is Scotland’s largest summer school, attracting participants from all over the country and Europe. Guest teachers are brought in from as far afield as America and Spain. This year‘s course has more emphasis on workshop sessions than before and has classes ranging from ballet technique to Spanish dance, from contact improvisation to injury
prevention. Book now as places are going fast. Fees: £95 for two weeks full course, £55 for one week.
5 Arlene Erb The Rebecca Walker Dance Studios, 14 Orwell Terrace, 337 0748. Sat 26 J uly— Fri 1 August. Two classes per day — one open and the other for advanced/professional. The Erb Technique is a unique blend of ballet and jazz. Currently working in Vienna at the State Opera, Erb has taken time offthis summer to teach in Monte Carlo, London and Edinburgh. Classes: £3 each, £20 for 10.
