musicians in Britain and plucked from Berklee Jazz College in Boston, Mass. for Gary Burton’s group, Tommy Smith
is no longer a Wunderkind from Wester
Railes but a professional saxophonist and he is one of the attractions at an amazing day-long jazz festival in Edinburgh on 14 June.
Platform with Radio Forth have organised two sessions of music and there will be raffles, games, quizzes, and bring and buy record and book stalls. The barwill be open with food available all day. Music starts at noon with the Edinburgh Youth Jazz Orchestra; Francis Cowan/Melanie D’Reilly Duo; Jim Vincent and Alan Pendreigh; Brian Keddie Duintet; Ken Fraser; Jeff Freedner Quartet and Tam White and the Dexters.
