Forthe viewer, a thematic exhibition provides a convenient opportunity to compare approach and technique. For the artist, however, it can sometimes mean working to a brief quite ditlerent trom personal concerns and therefore yielding mediocre work. Luckily, most participants in this varied exhibition overcame such obstacles and make the show well worth a visit. Special mention must goto Helen Wilson, Carol Rhodes, Douglas Thomson and
' Keith McIntyre. PeterThomson, a ' young artist who deserves more
attention, exhibits a disquieting
' imagination in his painting The
Minder. The very talented Steven Campbell disappoints with a small,
rather bland work entitled Salesman
