The group, which has been going for some years. tours from time to time, demonstrating their ability in performance. Museum Education Service has been organising programmes for primary : & secondary school children in the 1 various city museums. Last year over 80,000 pupils from schools attended ! a wide variety of special programmes ' designed to link the school curricula j to the museum’s collections. Most of 7 these sessions are activity based and i scenes from six recent programmes are on display. They include the following scenes: A Reconstructed 1906 Classroom, Edwardian Transport, Tobacco Lords, Elizabeth 1 - A Royal Progress and Upstairs, Downstairs (an Edwardian ; scene). Glasgow Trams Painting Competition 11 Dec—10 Jan. The Museum‘s collection of Glasgow trams was the - inspiration for school children who entered a recent painting competition run by Strathclyde Public Relations Department. Winners in the 5 categories won a weekend in Blackpool for the centenary celebration of its tramway. 30 of the best entries, which included prints, photographs, paintings and drawings, form this exhibition.
