Kelly Apter picks out the highlights for children and families from week three of the Fringe

BRAINIAC LIVE! With live explosions and a considerable amount of mess, this stage version of the former TV show makes for a noisy and fun hour for families. See review, page 72. Underbelly Bristo Square, until 27 Aug, 11am, £12–£15 (£10–£13).

CHORES It turns out tidying up your bedroom can be fun after all as long as you’re an incredible acrobat, juggler and clown, like these two Australian funsters. See review, page 68. Assembly George Square Gardens, until 26 Aug (not 20), noon, £7–£9.

CIRCA: WOLFGANG The Australian Fringe regulars are back, this time with a show for children and families. Expect the usual top-notch acrobatics but with lots of silly slapstick thrown in. See review, page 70. Underbelly’s Circus Hub, until 25 Aug (not 20), 2pm, £12–£14 (£11–£13).

WILDE CREATURES Tall Stories, the team behind Fringe hits The Gruffalo and Room on the Broom, presents its funny, moving and musical show inspired by Oscar Wilde’s tales. See review at list.co.uk Pleasance Courtyard, until 26 Aug (not 15, 17, 19, 21–23, 25), 2.50pm, £9–£11 (£8–£10).

JOHN HEGLEY:

MICHAEL MORPURGO’S MORNING WORDSHIP

KENSUKE’S KINGDOM Morpurgo’s tale of a young boy separated from his family at sea, who makes a fast friend on a desert island, is deeply touching. See review, page 72. Pleasance Courtyard, until 27 Aug, £8.50–£11 (£7.50–£10).

Spend a joyous 45 minutes with one of Britain’s finest performance poets, as he shares his unique brand of witty, wonderful nonsense. See review at list.co.uk/festival Pleasance Courtyard, until 19 Aug (not 15), 10.30am, £10 (£8).
