FEED THE WORLD Louise Stoddart rounds up some of our favourite food-themed festival events of the month

N o longer are we forced to queue for a meagre handful of food vendors during August, only to be served a sloppy burger when we reach the front of the line. Now, there’s fierce competition between street food producers to get a space in the heart of the festival action and a great range of global cuisines to choose from. We’ve also seen an increasing number of pop-up food events, as well as comedy and theatre shows dedicated entirely to food and drink. Here are some events to look out for this year if you’re constantly thinking about your next meal.

while Philip Contini and his Be Happy Band perform some classic Italian love songs live on stage.
