ART LATE Exploring Edinburgh’s arts scene by night

I n a series of specially programmed openings and events, Edinburgh Art Festival will be catering to the city’s night-owls this year as Art Late takes audiences to an array of arts venues across Edinburgh for some late-night festival fun.

Curated by the experts here at The List, Art Late will feature a host of performers, live music,

artist talks and tours of the city’s best venues at night, spread across four evenings in August.

The series kicks off on Thu 4 Aug at the National Museum of Scotland, where guests will be invited to explore the treasure trove of artefacts in the museum and wander through the galleries. Visits to the Talbot Rice Gallery, Dovecot and The Number Shop will then follow, with the event i nishing up at The List’s Festival Party at Summerhall, where you’ll be entertained by a variety of hand-picked performers, top Fringe acts and drinks courtesy of Russian Standard Vodka and Blue Moon Craft Beer. The exclusive event will continue until late, giving you the chance to fully take in everything the party has to offer. But that's not your only chance to see art by night there's three more Art Late events in August. The next one's a week later on Thu 11 Aug. Starting at Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop, guests will be transported to Ciara Phillips’ ‘Every Woman’ Dazzle Ship at the Prince of Wales dock, Rhubaba, Inverleith House, Edinburgh Printmakers and Helen McCrorie’s The Clock in Commune exhibition at the Glasite Meeting House, before i nally ending at the Leith Theatre to see awesome Edinburgh band Spook School (pictured).

Look out for more Art Lates on Thu 18 Aug (with music from Jonnie Common) and Thu 26 Aug

(the Van T’s), but more on that later. (Arusa Qureshi)
