Calling all Elvis wannabes. Auld Reekie will be transformed into a veritable Graceland during a two-day tribute to the king of rock’n’roll
this month. Organisers of the lnvAsian Festival, an event dedicated to promoting Asian arts and culture, have announced plans to hold an ‘Elvis ldol’ competition on 24 and 25 August. The winning warbler will walk away with two nights dinner, bed and breakfast for two and a star turn on Edinburgh’s Talk 107 Breakfast Show. The panel of judges includes Sal Bashir, the only British-born Muslim Elvis tribute artist of Pakistani origin in the world, Paul Hyu, the world’s only British Elvis originally from China, and Scott Wilson, the host of Talk 107’s Breakfast Show. Event organisers will open the doors to the Royal College of Surgeons, the venue for all the lnvAsian Festival’s productions, at 11am on 24 August for
tryouts. The competition is open to all ages.

from the Sh'tty Deal Puppet Theatre was 'Ieft behind’ on the number 44 bound for Musselburgh. The puppet was last seen on a late night bus along with another puppet which is described as ‘a big yellow hairball’.
