Waverley Care, Scotland’s leading HIV charity, has launched a programme of events in a bid to raise over £25,000 during the
Fringe. Adam Hills will host more than 14 of his rib-tickling contemporaries, including Ed Byrne and Rich Hall, at the Festival Theatre on Monday 18 August. Meanwhile, LGBT choir Loud and Proud will perform at Greyfriars Kirk on Saturday 23 August, while the Tartan Ribbon Comedy Benefit is at the Pleasance on Tuesday 12 August.

I Writer and performer of Ten Days. Festival virgin Ginny Davis, will perform extracts from her show in the front window of the John Lewis store on Leith Street, between 3.30—4pm on Thursday 7 August. Her performance will include a live karaoke version of some Elvis classics. Davis' shame-faced 12-year-old son and husband will be flyering and operating the sound system.
I The Performing Rights Society (PRS) has announced plans to give more new talent the chance to perform in front of a Fringe audience on Sunday 10 August at this year’s Fringe Sunday festivities. A small group of musical types from the worlds of rock, folk, experimental, pop and funk have been selected from the original 500 online applicants. Those scheduled to appear include Punch and the Apostles and CWO.

CLOSER TO THE EDGE
I As the world’s biggest arts festival pats itself on the back for surviving the first week of mayhem, The Edge has announced three impressive additions to its line-up. Paolo Nutini will bring the month- long festival to a close at the Corn Exchange on Wednesday 27 August, following his surprise appearance at this year’s T in the Park. Elsewhere, The Raconteurs drop in to punt their second album, Conso/ers of the Lonely. N*E*R*D will complete the hattrick.
THE FRINGE HAS NEVER shied away from presenting its wares 1n some rather unusual venues and this year Potency ets dramatic on t e Squash Courts at the Pleasance. Producers are describing the piece, as a ’witty satire on sexual politics’, with audience members watching from the sidelines. You have been warned.
