(Ilaiinetist Dick 1 ee is a regular at this venue, and leads his seven piece expansion of ESWing 900/, featuring a four horn frontliiie in which he is Joined by Anne l vans. MUSIC OF THOMAS ADES Unsung violinist gets welcome airing
For some inexplicable reason, the music of the young English composer Thomas Ades doesn't get much of an airing north of the border. Putting that to rights is the Chamber Orchestra of Europe, With Ades himself conducting his Violin concerto and the wonderfully accomplished Anthony Marwood, for whom it was written. as soloist. And that‘s leSI for starters. For their second performance. the COE and Ades hring tenor Tohy Spence. fast becoming an Edinburgh favourite. to their festival platform. This time, Ades' Couperin inspired Three Stud/es Sits appropriater enough in an otherWise all French programme.
